Very interesting Blog. We are a group focused on delivering content to cell phones in a different way. We tried the various wireless approachs and perceive current technology still in primitive modes due to file sizes, transmissions speeds and lack of available space in handhelds.
Thus we have created a player on a (Player Resident On SD Card) This is a complete Mobile Digital Video Package operating in Windows Pocket PC, Palm and Symbian EPOC OS. A version of Linux OS is in test along with four variation of different Symbian user interfaces.
The power of this system is that the Player application resides on the Flash Chip itself and not within the handheld. The card plays in all operating systems at the same time.
